Unboxing Island Batik Ambassador 2021.1
As I begin my fourth year as an Island Batik Ambassador, I’ve learned that Christmas comes an extra two times per year. My favorite UPS man is arriving with two of the three boxes of goodies that arrived this month. All materials are provided to me free of charge by Island Batik and their industry partners Aurifil, Accuquilt, Hobbs and Schmetz in my role as an ambassador.

These stash builder bundles have four rolls of four fabrics each. Each strip is five inches by width of fabric which provide a dash of variety when you are looking for the perfect color accent.
This Foundation Bundle is a packet of twelve 1/2 yard cuts of fabrics always in stock at Island Batik. They include Solids, Basics, Blenders and Neutrals.
Who would NOT be DELIGHTED to receive a four yard cut of a fabric named DOUGHNUT? This generous piece from the Island Batik Foundation collection is perfect for backings, backgrounds or any quilt requiring a lighter neutral.
This bundle contains 4 yard cuts of Island batik solids in white, black and gray. If you haven’t had a chance to try these high thread count luxury fabrics be sure to include them in your next projects. There is a beautiful array of colors to choose from as well.
Batiks aren’t just for quilts. They work well for fashion as well and the rayon batik lends it’s self especially well. Stitch up a jacket, shirt, dress or scarf for easy care and comfort.
Fun buttons from The Best From Bali, Island Batik. I’m adding them to my dream vacation bulletin board!
Industry Partners - Aurifil, Accuquilt, Hobbs and Schmetz
Aurifil included two thread weights, 40 wt and 50 wt. The 40 wt is a tad bit heavier and ideal for machine applique, machine embroidery and for when you really want your quilting stitches to pop. The 50 wt is a general all-purpose thread, perfect for quilting, handwork, piecing, and machine applique.
This die, provided by Accuquilt, is a smaller version of there classic GO! Big Snail’s Trail die that works with a GO! cutter This BOB (Block On Board) die is a perfect use for layer cake squares, and you can cut three complete 2-color blocks in just one pass through your cutter! Watch for the June challenge, when ambassadors will create with this and other dies.
Hobbs included four queen sized battings in this shipment. The queen size Heirloom Premium 100% Natural Cotton Batting and two (a black and natural) queen size Heirloom Premium 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend battings, are my go to lap, table runner, and bed quilt battings. They have perfect drape and softness. They also included a new to me queen size Poly-Down batting ideal to really show off machine quilting.
Three packets of Schmetz needles along with an array of gifts. Both the Chrome and Microtex are perfect for stitching batik fabrics.
